St. James United Methodist Church exemplifies a project meticulously designed to accommodate the evolving needs of its parishioners. Back in 1968, RPPY (RPK at the time) prepared a master plan for a modest congregation of 27 members nestled on an 8-acre wooded plot in West Little Rock. As the church community flourished and the demand for expanded, permanent spaces grew apparent, RPPY initiated a phased approach to incorporate additional facilities. Over the decades, RPPY has seamlessly integrated over six phases of development, including two kitchens, a music wing, multiple educational facilities, a versatile Family Life Center boasting a flexible gymnasium and youth facilities, a columbarium, and a contemporary Worship Center. Today, the vibrant congregation, numbering 3,500 members, enjoys a sprawling 64,000 square foot complex—a testament to the enduring collaboration between RPPY and St. James United Methodist Church over the past five decades.
